rawr. hello there, kitty. hello kitty cubed. hello kitty ripped. and hello kitty blinged out. what an amazing exhibit at the Sky Art Observation Dock on the Yuk-Sam Building aka 63 Building. takes me back to the old school days where i used to collect sanrio like it was my job. except, hello kitty was too original for me. i had to stick to the keroppi, pochacco and pekkle characters… what an embarrassing confession. anyway, hello kitty. the epitome of asian girl. bet you didn’t know she lives in LONDON. or that her actual name is kitty white. she’s also as tall as five apples. sorry hk, looks like i beat you on this one.
so yeah, the exhibit was entertaining. 63 bldg also had an imax theatre- i got to see a show on the alps- which made me want to ski, be in cold weather and taste snow reaaaaaal bad. and the building also has an aquarium, which was awesome. i haven’t been to one of those in awhile. saw some nemos, sea turtles and sea lions. OH MY. oh, and some nasty looking eels. cool flashlight fishies. and some super cute penguins.
yayyyy. so as we were going to the top of the building (there are revolving restaurants on top with a killer view of the city p.s. in case any korean boy wishes to take me) we noticed that along the riverbank there were thousands upon thousands of people all camped out. and then we saw a concert setup and also huge tv screens on platforms floating on the river. and then i remembered. the fireworks festival. check out that crowd.
have i mentioned that i love this city? but. we didn’t plan on coming/going… so we forgot warm clothes, a blanket and a six-pack… so we literally had to fight our way through the MASSES of people walking towards the river, got some street food & went to myungdong to shop for a couple hours. oh did i mention that they’re opening a forever 21 in myongdong tomorrow? nice. but the prices will probably be jacked even though the owner/founder/amazing person is KOREAN. psch. so here’s myongdong- they had a random concert/dance off that night too. and then also the 63 building.

it’s already october. christmas is going to come sooner than i think. and then, i feel the homesickness might sink in a little bit. elections are coming up too. i got my absentee ballot in the mail… i’m a little embarrassed to say that i haven’t been keeping up with everything as i should. i need to do a little more reading on these guys. . . who knows. maybe i should stay in korea for a couple years until this depression in the states dies down. american dollar is worth nada. gotta stick with that KRW, you know what i’m sayin?

i was wondering when dear kitty would make it into a blog! can’t go to asiaworld without the kitty, of course. I miss you, Jer!
